FINISSAGE + PERFORMANCE

With *DOULAS! Echoes of Songs*, the exhibition’s artist and curator, Sylvie Riant, and sound artist Sig Valax transform the museum space into a symbolic ‘mother-house’ (maison-matrice). Drawing on the themes of the postnatal period and archaic rituals of care, four performers weave a sanctuary of transition and vulnerability before the audience’s eyes. Amidst crimson velvet, white-painted branches and the alchemy of primal fluids, the performance revives the legacy of the female community as the traditional guardians of the beginning of life.

An immersive work that invites the audience to join together in an unbroken chain of protection.
