Octopus – Ideas that grab hold

“Surrealism in the mountains”

To mark the 100th anniversary of the Surrealist Manifesto, students from the Faculty of Architecture created a large-scale octopus sculpture as part of a seminar. The unusual object is a deliberately surreal foreign body in the high alpine landscape, causing irritation, amazement, and playful alienation. The installation explored the principles of surrealism and invited viewers to rethink the interplay of nature, fantasy, and artistic experimentation.

The octopus opens up its world. The exhibition shows the process of creating the sculpture in the form of a collage of photos and drawings. At the same time, the octopus creates a stage for further events at the Eck Museum of Art.
